Thread subject: Diptera.info :: small reddish one

Hi,
I really must apologize for the quality of these pictures - they are awfully bad. However, before deleting them, I'd like to give them a chance, because I wonder which fly has such a red scutellum. It was a very small fly, seen on the Baltic Island of Usedom close to the shore in August.

Wow - great! So, according to the gallery photo, this is a male? The female looks quite black.

There is a lot of colour variation within the species which is not linked to males or females.
