Hi Gabor,
what about size of these flies, and localities?

All these flies were photographed in Debrecen, on the glass of the university I (used to) work at. They were roughly the same size, cc 3.5-5 mm if I remember correctly. I guess most of these images show the same species from different dates.

These are very similar to some Chyromya flies, and indeed I have one of these identified in my gallery as Ch. sp. But in Ch. the ocelli are surrounded by a dark plate, which is not present in these larger flies.

Hi Gabor,
all specimens except of 2 are Sapromyza (may be S. palpella, but it is not sure). Specimen 2 is probably Lyciella (1+3 dc).

Hi Katka,

Can individual 2 not be Paroecus signatipes? If I identified that species correctly, that species was another abundant Lauxaniid at the same location at the same period.

Hi Gabor,
yes, it could be Paroecus signatipes. I can see 4 rows of acrostichals and arista could be widened. Paroecus signatipes is termophile species (rather rare in the Czech Republic, probably more common in Hungary).
