Hello,
this ~10mm is from a shady mountain river in the austrian alps (july 2008). At first I wanted to label the picture as Rhagio lineola, but now I am not sure, because of the yellow legs and the divided stigma on the wings.
What Rhagio is it?
Thanks,
Michael
ps It seemingly used its forelegs as antennae and was waving with it over the surface of the leaf, if this helps.

Thank you for your answer.
When I looked for informations about Rhagio maculatus, I found a key at http://home.hccnet.nl/mp.van.veen/KEYS/Rhagionidae/Rhagio.html I also come to Rhagio maculatus, and as far as I can see, the dark median ring on femur 1 is quite distincitive. The size and the pale stripes on the Thorax also fit well.
So I think, it's rather certainly Rhagio maculatus.
Michael
