Hi,
This nice Dolichopodid of last June looks, to me, not too different from a Dolichopus plumipes. At least the name would fit to the hairy hind tibiae. Please confirm or correct!
Many thanks, Sundew

I think the antennae are the wrong colour for D plumipes.
Other than that...one for someone into Doli's

You are right, Roger. And the hairs should be on the tarsi of the middle legs. So it is definitely not D. plumipes. What about D. longitarsis? We need Igor's or Stefan's opinion.

PS. I had a Dolichopus thread some time ago (http://www.dipter...d_id=13103) where Igor put a question mark to D. plumipes. This seems very justified indeed, as the peculiar foot hairs are missing. Or is the antenna colour more important than the name-giving black setae?

What about D. claviger?

From what I can see on the photos it seems to be a male but without modified tarsomeres, therefore it is not plumipes. The species belongs to the Group III according to Parent 1938.
