Hello,

on my hard disk I found this old photo from may 2005 near Cologne. Is it Rhagio scolopaceus?

Thanks,
Michael

Not scolopaceus. Scolopaceus has a patterned wing. This is the male of lineola.

I don't agree.
It is too big and espcially the stigma is too elongated for lineola. And the legs are too yellow.
Compare http://www.diptera.info/photogallery.php?photo_id=3572

Moreover, there is some clouding int he wing. So I'd go for Rh. vitripennis

OK. I had some problems with this fly having darkened veins. I did not know the size.

So I'd go for Rh. vitripennis

Hello Theo,

thank you for your explanations. R. vitripennis is a new species for me.
