H. crassicornis?

Size: ~8mm
Date: 3 August 2008
Location: On my poor leg! And I was standing on a small forest road close to a field (Helsingborg, Sweden)

It only seemed to attack me when I was in the shade (came back sveral times), but if I only took a smal step out in the sun it didn't attack me.

Thanks for help!

Did you flash ?

If so, it might very well be pluvialis
(why does it matter: the wing pattern is too bold for pluvialis. However, with a flash it might turn into this. On the other hand, the date suggests pluvialis not crassicornis and there seems to be a brown spot at base of third antennal segment, but out of focus, so....)

Yes, I used flash. Diffused though, but still. Thanks.

So, I'd really like to see the abdomen or the antenna more clearly. The date still strongly favours pluvialis.

Well, since she was sitting on my leg, and quite low, I had to bend over and take the photos from above. So I'm afraid I can't offer much of her abdomen.

Here is another one, slightly from the side. I can see brown on the antennae.

Ok, nice, repeated request, please post all pictures at once.

This picture is obviously pluvialis.

Well, I'm afraid I can't offer any other angles. These are the remaining of the set I took that day.
