Hi, this 2-3 mm long fly was feeding on tree exudate of Platanus. Head has a nice orange stripe. Found in E-Hungary, June.

BTW, Aulacigastridae have been quite recently (some 10-15 years ago) revised by Laszlo Papp.

Yes, Laszlo Papp revised the Palaearctic species of Aulacigster in 1998 [1997]. Later (2001) Christian Kassebeer described an additional species in this genus.

Thank You! I think the photo is not good enough to use all those sources. In spring I'll try to cathc a few sprcimens!
