hi flyforum,

a little fly with large wings and I was a bit thinking of Lauxaniidae but I have doubts about that...

What kind of species is it?

arista plumose
place: Amsterdam forest
date: 24-01-2009

This is Scaptomyza pallida, Drosophilidae. Lauxaniidae never have a costal break on the wing.

also lauxaniids never have vibrissae! hmm.. maybe one exception. :) And generally they do not have arista plumose as we can see in this fly.
