I first thought this was an ordinary S. carnaria until I noticed the genitalia (I think that's what it is) looked reddish.
Size: ~12mm
Date: 2 August 2008
Location: Wooden railing surrounding a pond (Helsingborg, Sweden)
Thank you!

Female
Sarcophaga with weak anterior dorsocentrals and red genitalia is likely to be
Bercaea or
Parasarcophaga. This one looks as though it may have some strong prescutellar acrostichals, which might suggest the latter, but I'd like to see a dorsal shot if you have one!

Thanks a lot Tony. Unfortunately these are the only views I have of this fly. For the coming season I will try to get more different views, flies permitting :)
