Hi
Can anybody please ID? It was smaller than a housefly, around 6-7mm long. Pictured in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

No, Muscidae, genus Stomoxys, species level impossible by this photo

Regarding very wide frons and abdominal patterns it is cosmopolitan
S. cf. calcitrans
