26 April 2008, The Netherlands, Meppel
In damp forrest on the bark of Fraxinus exelcior.

About 50% larger than some common ones like T. oleracea.
This is probably a common species to.
Any ideas?

Best regards,

Klaas

If it wasn't for the size I'd say T. lateralis but AFAIK it's about the same size as T. oleracea.
Perhaps someone else can shed some light.

The two pointed lobes on the ninth tergite does indicate in the Tipula (Yamatotipula) group, thus Tipula lateralis would be a good fit.
