Cannot tell you what it is, but it is a female.
Looks like some Tabanus cf. bromius

A slightly lighter photo.

I think this looks quite different from T. bromius I see in Hungary. Both the coloration (more rusty) and the pattern is different, though it must be closely related as judged by the virtually identical jizz. If I remember correctly this was also a larger species than the smalish bromius.
