May 27, 2006. Hiding from the rain on the trunk of Picea. Size rather small, wing length less than 10mm I believe.

the 16 segment antennae makes it a Limoniidae; and 3 branches of r reach wing margin makes it a Hexatomiinae.

Many thanks Chen. Now I see more caution's needed to label one 'Tipulidae'...

This is a limoniid but should be 4-8 flagellum in
H. (Eriocera)

Now I think it's a female of
Euphylidorea lineola.

It looks like Eupholydorea, but what make you think about this specie?

Of 3 yellow spp.,
aperta has cell D open, which is not the case,
dispar has dark-brown femora with yellow bases and wings less yellowish.

how do you rule out ferruginea?
dispar and lineola have a median black stripe on top of thorax.
Personally, i'd go on
P ferruginea for this one, except if there is other similar specie in your area (i didn't check)

Yea I think
ferruginea (
Phylidorea s.str. with short
Rs) is also possible.
