Hello!
This one rested among several equal sized (12 mm)
Polietes at a pile in our garden (northwest Germany). So I did not notice that it is likely no
Polietes until I saw the photos. But what is it?
Phaonia male?

Edit: I hope, it's not
P. tuguriorum again... B). Would have been rather big for it.

It could be
Phaonia scutellata this time, because the fronto-orbital plates are contiguous. But without a good shot of the head (profile), I don't want to guarantee anything.

Thanks a lot anyway, Stephane!

Just one additional question: is
Phaonia scutellata a synonym of another species? I can't find it in the german checklist.
