Hello!

This one visited the light in our garden tonight (northwest Germany). I guess it is a male Bibio clavipes. Size about 5 mm.

They are quite similar, but the stigma is more extended in lepidus, as excellently shown in these pics.

Lepidus seems to be even later than clavipes (based on little records, though).

OK.

I looked at it again, and my opinion has not changed: this is lepidus and that one is clavipes.
