It might be
Protoclythia modesta, but wait till Michal Tkoc (or someone else) gives his opinion. I have very little experience with Platypezidae.

Hello,
yes this is
Protoclythia modesta male. Did you noticed on what plant they were?

Hi Michal,
I have only one Platypezid from my Wetland Kerkini (Greece) survey so far. It looks, accepting that it is dead and in alcohol, very much like these photos. Would you be willing to identify it for certain if I sent it to you or is it not necessary. Or can you tell me what characters to look for. I don't want to ask somebody for a photocopy of a 276 book just to determine a single specimen.
            Thanks
                         Gordon

You can also add it to my specimens. I should have a copy of the book in about three weeks.
