Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Muscidae ?<Possible Pegomya for M.Ackland

Looks similar to Thricops semicinerea in the Gallery. This species is on the dreaded Checklist, can anyone confirm or otherwise.

Roger, do not forget to give locality (I guess Scotland as usualy) and date ( if image is from end Sept - it almost exclude T.semicinereus whith reach it's peak in June).
It really resemble T.semicinereus, but I think it isn't neither in June nor now - I'd say female of some Pegomya.

Thanks for that Nikita. This fly was photographed last week in my garden. The only Pegomya I have listed is P.bicolor, which I posted in a thread on 31-08-08. It looks a bit more orange in colour than this one.

It's not Pegomya bicolor Roger, legs all black. Dark bands on abdomen look like semicinereus.
