Location: Midwest Sweden (Dalsland)
Date: 2008-JUL-24

These flies ran near the water so I guess they are Ephydridae :) No photo from the side unfortunately

Found another photo. The fly was far away so it's a bit small and blurry, but it shows the color of the abdomen and a bit more of the face.

Not Ephydridae, but Muscidae : Lispe.

Thanks Stepane! Those mothparts made me think about Lispe, but as it was so close to the water and they didn't look like the ones I've seen before. Well, Lispe. Eleven species to choose from ...
