Hi, I tried to key this Tephritis out but ended to Tephritis dilacerata. That can't be, because the ventral side of r4+5 has no spines. Something is not correct with my ID :( August 29. 2008 Helsinki, Finland.

Tephritis hyosciami L. I am normally using the key to Swiss Tephritis, wich is the best (Merz 1994): the genus is too big and I do not keep all the species by heart...

Hi, thank You again. This is not the easiest genus for me :( I have the same book and what is confusing is that cell R1 has three clear spots and the outer one much smaller than two others. Just like the key says to dilacerata. The other thing are the spines under the wein r4+5. Both hyoscyami and dilacerata should have them but this one does not. Maybe I'm looking too carefully after things that are not so important and are variable. Thank You again for Your help :)

Well, I see the sockets of at least 2 fine setulae underneath R4+5 on your picture...
