I saw these jet-black Robberfly in the Taurus mountains, 29 May. All black execpt bright yellow halteres. This one still carried its pupal skin - which hampered its flight, happily for me because approach was very difficult. The tend to fly into deep vegetation. Medium sized by Mediterrenean standards at least...

Rather open mountainous country, with isolated pine trees.
The question, as always, is: is it IDable? Genus level would be fine!
