Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Conopidae: Conops quadrifasciatus? --> confirmed

Hello!

I still have difficulties distinguishing Conops quadrifasciatus from flavipes. This 12 mm fly (August-11, at a hedge, northwest Germany) should be quadrifasciatus, right?

Also, note the silvery marking on the side of the thorax, which flavipes does not have

Thanks. Now that you mention it, I vaguely remember. But I have to learn it every year again... (getting old slowly... :().
