Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Conopidae, Conops flavipes ? from Romania

Hi,
today (2.august.2008) i was in the field.
one of the fly photographed was this conopid, is this
Conops flavipes?
this the only photo succeeded.

Yes - partly yellow scutellum and generally blackish look would indicate Conops flavipes.

yes. Conops flavipes.
strange, I didn't see the Conops here yet ... Mentha flowers usually blossom in August here! :o
