Hello,
can the species be determined from this photo? (found in germany, beginning of june. Size: a little bit more than 1cm).

Empis livida. Two veins from the discal cell don't reach the wing margin.

There are already some gallery pics under "Empis (Kritempis) livida" (Kritempis is the subspecies), so you should label your pic likewise to avoid double placing.

it's too late. Perhaps Paul can rename the picture, so it fits better to the gellery.
