Hi, is it possible to say what is the genus of this Anthomyiidae with darkened crossweins and red eys ? July 31. 2008 Loviisa, Finland.

I did not know, that there are Anthomyiidae with darkened crossveins?

Where is this fly from? If Finland it is probably Anthomyia liturata RD female. This is a group of Anthomyia which are not the black and grey group usually assoociated with Anthomyia, There are many species of Anthomyia in S. America, many with very strongly marked crossveins.
There are two European species previously thought to be liturata, the other one is confusanea recently described and differing in the male genitalia, the females are difficult to separate, connfusannea often having paper tibiae.
