Hi David,
Indeed, like Paul already told you, a Geomyza species. It is a member of the so-called "combinata group". To identify the species of this species group one should normally study the genitalia. Of this species group only Geomyza balachowskyi and G. martineki are known from Hungary but I think that at least G. hackmani also occurs in Hungary. If I had to guess, I would call your specimen G. martineki but that is no positive identification!! So it could be interesting to study specimens like this in more detail. Did you collect the specimen? If so, I would be interested in studying this specimen (and others if you have more material).

Hi Jan,
Thank you for the informations about this group. Unfortunately I haven?t got other pics only this one, even I did not collect it (and other specimens too).
But I will go back this place in two weeks or so, try to take a better shot about the species.
Otherwise, it was very interesting for me, as the fly moved its wings pass around. I tried to understand the reason of this attitude, but failed to get out.

The behaviour sounds like courtship display! Did you see other specimens beside the one in your picture?
