Great picture of male Aplomyia confinis, easily recognized by the absurd short fifth (= last) tergite !

Yes -
Aplomya confinis (Fall?n 1820) but I think many species have the wrong myia/mya ending and I defy anyone to remember exactly which species has which without checking in their books first ;)

That's why I write -myia in all cases, whether it is allowed by the taxonomic police or not.
I'm not gonna criticise any spelling...
but in Greek it is -myia
