Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Another small fly!

Just was outside on my veranda and noticed these 2 small flies on my plants.Not great pics but ok for ID.
Anyone knows the species?

They look really interesting. My first guess was Catharosia pygmaea, a tachinid with shaded wings, but I am not too sure because I never seem to see them here and this fly has distinct bristles, which I don't think Catharosia has. But perhaps Theo can say if he has seen one like this :)

Do you have any more photos - different angles - perhaps showing the wing venation better?

You get some very interesting flies there in Cyprus, but this doesn't look like one I have seen before. It does look like a tachinid but it's hard to see enough from the photos - a specimen would be better :D
