or at least Tipuloidea.
Approx 6-7 mm and a rather distinctive look.
There were many of them in the Bois de Lauzelle in sunny spots on low vegetation.

Same time, same place, there were also some like this one. The other sex (female obviously)? a simple color variation ? another species altogether ? I could not see any mating pairs...
