Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Chalcosyrphus eunotus?

Hello ,
Despite the poor quality of the photo, I think it's a male Chalcosyrphus eunotus! Is that correct?

I'm quite sure that Chalcosyrphus eunotus is correct, but isn't it a female?

The photo is really bad... the distance between the eyes is hard to read, but I read that the female has more gray spots on her abdomen, but again, it's hard for me to be sure. Anyway, I'll try to take better photos if I see it again. It's still in that old, neglected forest...Thanks for your quick reply.

In exactly the same spot as the first time, I witnessed the mating (I even have a completely botched photo!), then the male came back to land in front of me, and so I took a few photos...
