Hello,

unfortunately I could only take one photo from this 6 mm Muscidae male. At a tree trunk at forest border (northwest Germany).
Maybe Thricops semicinereus?

Thanks, Niels-Jan. Phaonia subventa is one of the commonest flies here (see photo below), but this one seems to be different: lacking stripes on thorax, no hairs on eyes, much darker.
