Hello, I photographed this larva under a polypore attached to a poplar tree. It measures more than 10 mm and, after some research, I am not sure whether it belongs to the Mycetophilidae or Keroplatidae family. The shape of its head makes me think it is a Mycetophilidae, but is that enough to be sure?

My understanding is that the larvae found in the slime webs on polypores are Keroplatidae, often Keroplatus spp.

Thank you for your reply. Yes, they are indeed sticky webs that I found with empty cocoons.
