Have a nice Day. One Question please. Is this a Syrphidae species? Can it be identified more precisely? Unfortunately, I only found this one photo in my archive. I would be very grateful for an answer.
Location data: Austria, Lower Austria, Tattendorf, 220m, house facade, 24.12.2020

I'd say it is a very dark Episyrphus, due to low temperatures.
Note the vittae on thorax.

Hello Theo thank you for the answer of dark Episyrphus. Then it's a dark Episyrphus balteatus. This species can also be found quite late in the year.

Yes, it was also around here in our garden these days (northwest Germany). But it should have been posted in the Syrphidae subsection of this forum...
