Hello,
This
Hybomitra was caught on june 2014 by Malaise trap in a national reserve (49.430203 , 0.519455) rich in Tabanidae.
- three bands on eyes
- no hairs on eyes
- halter quite yellow
- first antennal segment orange with short black hairs
- third antennal segment balck with only orange base
- Upper eyefacets much larger than the lower, really visible
- palpus long
Three option :
solstitialis according to facet (and orange first antennal segment) but halter quite yellow and third antennal segment not orange (and little teeth not proeminent)
montana with the long palpus and no long hairs on first antennal segment but third antennal segment not all black and haltere yellow
expollicata with haltere yellow and dark median stripe on sternite but antennae not all black.
Maybe arrangement of facet and orange on first antennal segment is enough to conclude to
solstitialis (known in this site)?
Many thanks for your help,
BenoƮt
