Northern Germany, Schleswig-Holstein, Neu-Lankau near Mölln, way through fields and meadows right by the Elbe-Lübeck-Canel, at a leaf of Carpinus betulus, 19th of May 2025; Outsidephotos (no other angle) kuv.
Searching in the Diptera Gallery and also in the Forum threads (for example: s. https://diptera.i...d_id=57220) I found males of Morellia simplex with the same wing venation and very similiar thorax.
Is my ID-idea ok? Please help.

We cannot see all significant characteristics like legs, prosternum, but I think it's a female M. hortorum:
- frons seems to occupy one third of the head
- sides of tergites 2 - 4 with shifting black/greyish pattern
- their hind margins not markedly dark
(based on Gregor et al (2016): Manual CE Muscidae)

Morellia hortorum: Thank you very much, Eric |t.
It's great that you always tell the reasons why do you think of your result.
