Ansbach, 2025-06-24, garden near old deciduous forest in Frankenhoehe Nature Park
Maritime salvage from an insect font
Female, approx. 3 mm
Entirely metallic black-blue
No pruinosity
Showing several views of it's ovipositor
Is it a
Phania - other than the familiar
funesta?
EDIT:
Chaetoptilia puella

Hi Eric
That is a nice surprise ! It is a female Chaetoptilia puella !
Tschorsnig and Herting give as German localities Rheinland-Paltz, Baden-Wurrtemberg and Oberlausitz. But maybe the species is heading north due to climate change ?

Thank you very much Theo!
Many species are heading north - in July I found female and male of
Isodontia mexicana, which seems to follow
Oecanthus pellucens, who brings Italian flavour to the Franconian night since 2023.
Chrysomya albiceps is established since 2023 here, too!
