Very similar to
pertinax, but with a brownish and slightly longer stigma (about 4 times as long as broad). Differs clearly from
pertinax by the dark fore and mid tarsae (
pertinax has them yellow)! Very important.
Pertinax is not very common in Portugal, especially in the south, but
similis is. This makes it even more difficult to find
pertinax.
