Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Tachinidae, female? --> Metopia sp., male or female

Hi,

a few days ago I took a few pictures of a brownish fly on a leaf in our garden. Except for the protruding front, there seems to be nothing really remarkable for my eyes. I didn't found a proper match in the Tachinidae gallery, so I'm wondering, if that is really the proper family.
Is it possible to narrow down the determination from the picture?

Germany, Southern Bavaria, Garden in Munich (-West), leaf near the ground, 09.05.2024, app. 6-8 mm

Greetings, Uli

Sarcophagidae, I think Metopia.

Hi John!

Thanks for the correction. That looks like a better match.
