Hello,

I photographed this fly near Alvi (TE), Italy, 800m a.s.l. on August 17th 2022. It looks like a Clusiidae to me, but I'm not totally sure about that. Is it possible to identify its genus or species from these photos?

Thank you in advance,
Emanuele

I would search in Pallopteridae.

That is a much better option, thank you very much! After comparing it with the photos in the gallery I think the best option is Palloptera ambusta. Is that the correct species or are there other options I'm not aware of?
