Hi flyforum,

Today I found this fly on the sluice-doors in the Amsterdam forest.
My first idea was Lucilia, but looking better it seems Muscidae sp. to me.

And it got many similarities with Neomyia, is it a male Neomyia cornicina??
Is it common in winter?, never seen it before.

braun eyes, green cheeks and I miss one pair of dorsocentral bristles?

It would be nice if someone can confirm this :)

Robert,

Male N. cornicina is OK for me, except that there is no red hat in my keys. :D

Merry Christmas !
