No way to find Mydidae in Northern countries :P


This photo was taken by Sean on 8th June 2006. Maybe Mydas cf. clavatus as Sean think... I agree with Mydas, for the rest I don?t know.

Hi Jorge,

Yes, the species is most probbaly Mydas clavatus - the most common Mydidae in the eastern USA. There is only one other Mydas species (atratus) with a similar orange abdominal tergite 2, but in that species the second abdominal sternite is also orange.
