Thread subject: Diptera.info :: new family: Panthophthalmidae - Panthophthalmus sp.

On 26th November 2007, in Panama my friend Artour spotted this fly. Amazing fly! Panthophthalmidae family. I never saw this fly. :)
One day I hope to go to the Panama. :)

I love this fly world!! love!! :)

I had a few of these flies from insect dealers in French Guyana and they can be huge. Any idea what their biology is? :)

the biology seems similar to those wood flies. Not sure, though. I knew about this family ONLY yesterday. :)
