I think it could be a male Helina sexmaculata - tricky from only one dorsal photo.

Hi Eric, thank you very much for answer. Unfortunately, the fly got impatient and flew away after the first picture. I compared my photo with the pictures in the gallery and internet. In my opinion the distance between eyes of my fly is shorter, but I don't know if that's relevant for the determination. Greetings, Marion |

Helina sp. do not have naked eyes per se: e.g. H. evecta: "eyes densely haired in both sexes" from Gregor, Rozkošný, Barták, Vaňhara (2016): Manual CE Muscidae On P. tuguriorum: are the basal segments of the antenna reddish yellow? And a black mid-line between the fronto-orbital plates should be visible. Greetings, Eric |
