Can anyone suggest a family for this fly? Light trap, Townsville, Queensland.

I think Coenosia, Pygophora, or something in that corner of the Muscidae.

If you've got Orchisisia costata in your Muscidae checlist, this is it !

It is recorded from Queensland in the catalog of Pacific Diptera.

Edit: As Orchisia costata.

Thanks Stephane and John. It is listed on ALA as Orchisia costata. I've added this sighting which is the only one. BOLD have only one fly which is from Pakistan. I'll be adding two when they are processed. I've added a second picture to this post which looks like a dark morph, but I suspect it hit the Hg vapour bulb and got cooked.

Orchisia costata of course, sorry, at 0:59 AM it is pardonnable :S
The second specimen seems to be a female, I agree it as become dark coloured, not a natural colour.
