Hi there,
in a previous post, I requested determination of this specimen:

Now, with a second
Villa spec. (I suppose) from a different location in Austria I wondered
- if it is possible to determine a
Villa-fly just by photo
- as there are 8 species annotated for Austria, if some of the following can at least be excluded:
V. cingulata
V. fasciata
V. hottentotta
V. halteralis
V. ixion
V. modesta
V. occultis
V. paniscus

Species shown on all of your pictures should be Villa halteralis.
