Hello,

A friend of mine made these two photos of what I think is a very interestingly looking Atylotus male. I've never seen anything like this and my initial response was to shout Atylotus sublunaticornis right away. But as this species is considered extremely rare in Denmark it would be nice to get a second opinion. In fact sublunaticornis has been recorded only once in living memory: an unlabelled specimen in the zoological museum in Copenhagen.

The photos were made by Peter Krogh on 24. vii. 2016 in Lille Vildmose, the largest raised bog in Denmark located in northeast Jutland only a few kilometers from the sea.

It would be really nice to rediscover a species like this!
