Found on the car while parked at the Burn of Valayre. Size 6mm [ish]

I think it is Limnospila albifrons Roger. I'll check deeper tonight.

Descriptions fit 98%, but some details are wrong like postvertical setae that should be shorter and weaker than vte. So I'm not completely sure, and in other hand, I ruled out all close genera (this is not Neolimnophora, nor Pseudocoenosia, nor Villeneuvia).
So my question is : did you collect the fly ? Interesting one !

Thanks for the time and effort spent trying to ID this fly Stephane, I reckon 98% sure is close enough to say that this IS Limnospila albifrons and doubt the Fly Police will be knocking on my door anytime soon for thinking that. Sadly not collected as my collecting stuff was in MY car which is waiting for bits to repair the power steering [b;**dy cars]. I was driving another car at the time. [end of waffle] :S
