Hi there,

this marsh fly has been found on a meadow in the Vienna forests (Wienerwald) at 500m elevation.

Can the species be determined?

Best,
Lorin

as nobody has responded yet, is the determination too difficult?

I will at least confirm Coremacera.

Thank you, Paul.
What feature would be required to nail down C. marginata?
C. amoena and C. fabricii could be ruled out, I guess.

Lorin

Yes it is Coremacera marginata; but another species (? is it a true species ?) is Coremacera obscuripennis which is very similar to C. marginata.
