Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Lauxaniidae?

Hi photographed these two Lauxaniids (I think) in close proximity (a few meters apart) in Stil bay, South Africa. Size around 4mm. They look very similar in many regards and I wondered if I was looking at sexual dimorphism, different species or just variation between individuals. Can these be sexed?

Thank you

Philip

Lauxaniidae. I see no reason they could not be the same sex of the same species.

Exotic Lauxaniidae are difficult for me. This is superficially similar to the North American Poecilolycia. Steve Gaimari may know what the African equivalent is.
