Your "second view" is a distorted version of Johane's picture in thread http://www.dipter...d_id=70842 - how did this happen?
As to wing colouration, I suppose Tipula subgenus Pterelachisus, but this is just a result of comparison of the French genera in the Catalogue of the Craneflies of the World (http://ccw.natura...search.php).
Regards, Sundew

Hello Sundew,
Thanks for your answer.
Our second view is the right second view of our post. It is the same Tipula.
Best regards.

I am sorry, but this is what I see - compare the two screenshots! Your second picture shows a blurred detail of a copulation that took place in Sweden! Better delete the photo and post it again to make sure that it shows really your French fly.

Ah - what a nice male! I worked through all pictures of hypopygia in Pjotr Oosterbroek's catalogue and still believe in subgenus Pterelachisus, something like Tipula pseudovariipennis. However, I am no cranefly expert at all, so I recommend to write a Private Message to Pjotr Oosterbroek (he visits the forum only rarely - what a pity!). I am very sure he knows the name of your fly.
