Regarding the fly, I am not as sure as i was with the previous ones...

The keys take me to Thyridanthrax mutilus. Description doesn't fit as well as I would wish but still it is the closer to your creature. But at least, it is the one that fits better of all possibilities and the only one specifically cited in Rhodes. I cannot guarantee it is that species, but I am almost sure it is :)
